The Colorado Buffaloes' offensive struggles continued with a 29-7 loss to No. 12 Texas Tech in Boulder. Despite Isaac Wilson completing 26 of 44 passes for 290 yards in his first start, the Buffaloes were hampered by four turnovers—including three interceptions by Wilson—that proved decisive. One interception by Texas Tech’s John Curry resulted in a touchdown.

The defeat drops Colorado to a 2-3 record and 0-2 in Big 12 play, marking their third consecutive loss. This loss brings head coach Deion Sanders' record at the university to 18-24.

While Colorado gained more total yards (375 to 315), the turnovers intensified questions regarding stability at the quarterback position. Sanders has addressed the ongoing uncertainty by identifying the position as a “glaring problem” that is “disabling us and disarming us.” He has emphasized that the role remains a competition among three options, including Wilson, Julian “JuJu” Lewis, and Kaneal Sweetwyne. Sanders previously noted a desire for Lewis to clarify his own status following a halftime benching during a prior loss to Baylor.

Despite the losing streak, Sanders continues to draw significant attention and support from boosters, who highlight the increased visibility and crowd engagement he has brought to the program since his arrival before the 2023 season. Additionally, reports surfaced regarding a potential leak of the Colorado playbook at the team's hotel prior to the Texas Tech game, with images appearing to match plays used during Colorado's opening drive.
