Abu Dhabi is hosting several major international combat sports events in late 2026.

In September, the city will host the Middle East debut of the All-Star Sumo Competition at the Space42 Arena. The tournament features nine elite wrestlers from Japan, Mongolia, and Egypt competing in a round-robin format. The event, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi in collaboration with USA Sumo, includes traditional elements such as live taiko drumming.

Additionally, the Mubadala Arena is preparing for significant jiu-jitsu competitions. The seventh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship is scheduled for mid-September, featuring various age and gender divisions. This is followed by the 18th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship in November, which expects to host approximately 12,000 international athletes.
