Following powerful earthquakes in June 2026, a bronze statue and monument have been unveiled in Venezuela to honor Tsunami, a Border Collie search-and-rescue dog. Tsunami is credited with helping to locate survivors trapped in rubble following seismic activity.

In Barquisimeto, a sculpture created by artist Moisés Colmenares was unveiled at the intersection of Libertador and Bracamonte avenues. The monument features a base constructed from concrete and debris recovered from landslides caused by the June 24 seismic events. The initiative, supported by the Salud Animal clinic and veterinarian Anthony Landino, aims to promote animal protection and combat animal cruelty.
