Following the inauguration of the Zubeen Khetra memorial in Guwahati on September 1, efforts to honor the legacy of singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg have expanded across Assam. The memorial, located in Rajgarh and inaugurated by Garima Saikia Garg, was established as a secular sanctuary intended to preserve Garg’s music and humanist philosophy.

Building on this, the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) launched a week-long statewide program titled ‘Zubeen’s Assam… From Melody to Resolve’ from September 13 to 19. This initiative includes various daily themes such as ‘Humanity Day’ and ‘Day of National Resolve,’ featuring activities like blood donation camps and the planting of one lakh saplings. The AJP has also called for justice regarding Garg’s death and urged the government to accelerate the construction of Zubeen Khetra.
