Memorial services have been held to honor the legacies of prominent Turkish cinema figures on the anniversaries of their deaths.

In late September, a ceremony was organized by the Edremit Municipality in Balıkesir to mark the 13th anniversary of the death of Tuncel Kurtiz. The event took place at his grave in the Çamlıbel neighborhood, where officials and fans gathered to reflect on his contributions as an actor, screenwriter, and director.

In October, the Esenler Municipality organized a memorial for director Halit Refiğ at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery on the 17th anniversary of his passing. During the service, his wife, Gülper Refiğ, spoke regarding his independent career and principled character, noting that ‘if your works live, you live along with them.’
