Commodore and CD PROJEKT RED have announced the Commodore 77, a special edition of the Commodore 64 Ultimate inspired by the video game Cyberpunk 2077.

The hardware utilizes an AMD Artix XC7A100T FPGA chip to replicate original C64 hardware, allowing for operating frequencies up to 77 MHz. While one report describes a translucent smoked grey chassis with turquoise LED lighting, another describes a dystopian aesthetic featuring a scuffed yellow case with graffiti and brushed metal panels. Technical specifications include 77 MB of RAM and a special sound chip capable of reproducing classic SID sound in 24-channel stereo. To maintain compatibility with older software, the system allows users to manually throttle the speed.

The package includes a demo created by the group Arise that expands on Cyberpunk 2077 lore. Pre-orders have begun, with a market release expected in early 2027.
