The 52nd Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) Festival, themed ‘Guide’, began in late July in Ierapetra, Crete. The opening event included musical performances and political speeches aimed at promoting the Communist Party of Greece’s (KKE) socialist program, focusing on wealth redistribution, public ownership, and universal access to education and culture.

In late August, the festival continued in Astakos, Aetolia-Acarnania. During this gathering, KKE Member of Parliament Nikos Papanastasiou addressed the audience, criticizing the strategies of Greek ruling parties and their involvement with the US, NATO, and the EU. Papanastasiou also discussed geopolitical tensions involving Turkey, the Middle East, Ukraine, and the rivalry between Western powers and the Eurasian bloc. Locally, he raised concerns regarding the potential use of the former Agrinio military airport as a drone training center.
