As the city marks its 193rd anniversary, local traditions are being highlighted through the exploration of its eight districts, which range from the religious traditions of Tiquaruçu to the industrial potential of Humildes. Urban landmarks such as the Mercado de Arte Popular, Feiraguay, and the Paço Municipal continue to serve as symbols of the city’s evolution and cultural preservation.

In the educational sector, the Municipal Education Secretariat (Seduc) is conducting workshops with early childhood educators to develop a Municipal Plan for Early Childhood. Technical students have also engaged in field studies at the local Procon office regarding consumer rights. Other ongoing activities include the 48th Spiritist Week, which focuses on mental health and fraternity, and scientific exhibitions featuring student projects.

To support Afro-Brazilian cultural expressions, the municipality is resuming the ‘Edital Pérola Negra’ project. Originally created in 2018, the project aims to strengthen African-matrix cultural movements, such as afoxés, by offering 25 vacancies across two categories to democratize access to resources.
