Environmental restoration efforts have been conducted through community-led cleaning activities in various regions. In the Ecuadorian Amazon, a massive cleanup of the Puyo River involving students, firefighters, military personnel, and community members removed 700 kilograms of waste, including bottles and plastics. This event was part of the #EUBeachCleanup campaign, marking its first implementation in the region.

Subsequent efforts expanded to other locations. In Otavalo, Ecuador, the ‘Guardianes del Agua: Juntos por El Tejar’ initiative removed 980 kilograms of debris—including plastics, tires, and mattresses—from a stretch of the El Tejar River. In Toledo, Spain, students participated in a restoration day along the Tagus River, collecting 142 kilograms of trash and engaging in tree planting to promote environmental awareness.
