Preparations for the CONCACAF Nations League continue across Central America and the Caribbean. 

Honduras, under Spanish head coach José Francisco Molina, has finalized a 26-man roster for matches against Suriname, Jamaica, and Martinique. The squad, which includes Denil Maldonado, Luis Palma, and Dereck Moncada, views the tournament as a stepping stone toward the 2030 World Cup and Gold Cup qualification.

The Dominican Republic is entering League A for the first time. Led by coach Marcelo Neveleff, the roster features European-based players Mariano Díaz and Junior Firpo. Their group stage campaign includes matches against Nicaragua, Trinidad and Tobago, and Haiti, with the long-term objective of 2030 World Cup qualification.

Nicaragua, coached by Argentine Juan Cruz Real, is also beginning its campaign with ambitions of reaching its first World Cup. Haiti is also preparing for Nations League competition, with scheduled matches against Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica.

In El Salvador, coach Hernán Darío ‘Bolillo’ Gómez has expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to compete with upcoming opponents like Jamaica, Martinique, and Guatemala, as the team seeks to maintain its position in League A. To support international focus, Salvadoran football authorities have rescheduled the final phase of the 2026 Copa Presidente to the first quarter of next year, aiming to reduce player fatigue and prioritize the CONCACAF Central American Cup.

In club competitions, Motagua holds a 3-0 advantage over Alianza in the Central American Cup, while Costa Rica’s Cartaginés is competing for a spot in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
