Brazil’s National Commission for the Incorporation of Technologies in the Unified Health System (Conitec) has made decisions regarding treatment options for Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH).

During an extraordinary meeting on August 19, 2026, Conitec recommended the incorporation of iptacopana, an oral medication for patients with persistent symptoms despite using a C5 inhibitor. This decision provides the SUS with its first second-line treatment option for PNH.

Conversely, the Commission recommended the exclusion of ravulizumabe from the SUS, citing changes to the price parameter of the comparator drug. Conitec also decided against the incorporation of crovalimabe or pegcetacoplana.
