The Connecticut Sun WNBA franchise has been honoring former players through jersey retirement ceremonies. 

On August 7, the team retired Alyssa Thomas’s No. 25 jersey in Uncasville, Connecticut. Thomas, described by fans as “the engine,” spent 11 years with the franchise and holds several all-time team records. Following her tenure in Connecticut, she joined the Phoenix Mercury.

On August 25, the team held a ceremony at Mohegan Sun Arena to retire Tina Charles’s No. 31 jersey. The event celebrated Charles’s career with the Sun from 2010 to 2013. In connection with the honor, Charles’s company, 78 Brewing Co., released a SUNSET Hazy IPA designed to honor the franchise’s players, fans, and coaches.
