In Serbia, new measures have been introduced to address electricity costs and consumer rights. Citizens can receive a 70 percent discount on electricity bills by switching to electronic billing through the ‘EPS Uvid u račun’ app or official website, provided payments are made by the 20th of the month. Furthermore, pensioners with monthly incomes below 31,092.11 dinars are granted ‘energy vulnerable customer’ status, which qualifies them for a 1,000 dinar discount on their bills.

Separately, the consumer association Efektiva has warned of potential predatory practices by telecommunications operators. The group noted that operators may attempt to charge penalties or equipment costs that exceed market value when users fail to return hardware after a contract ends. Efektiva advises consumers to obtain written confirmation of equipment returns or use registered mail to provide proof of delivery if an operator refuses to accept hardware.
