New contemporary art initiatives and exhibitions have been launched across various Italian cities. In Florence, the gallery L'Appalto opened to support emerging Italian artists through monographic shows, collaborative projects, and international partnerships. In Turin, the Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (GAM) initiated the "Ricognizioni" program, an open call for local artists aged 19-35 to map emerging art practices through exhibitions and workshops.

Several significant cultural exhibitions are scheduled through 2026. In Rome, the Gallerie Nazionali Barberini Corsini will host "Bernini e i Barberini" from February 12 to June 14, 2026, examining the Baroque connection between Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Pope Urban VIII.

In Abruzzo, the Fondazione Malvina Menegaz in Castelbasso will present the fourth edition of "Progetto Genesi: Arte e Diritti Umani" from July 25 to August 30, 2026. Curated by Ilaria Bernardi, this exhibition explores human rights themes, including censorship, the female condition, and environmental protection, featuring works by artists such as Shirin Neshat and Sebastião Salgado.

Additionally, the tenth edition of "Fatti ad Arte" will be held at Palazzo Gromo Losa in Biella from August 22 to October 18, 2026, exploring the intersection of high craftsmanship and contemporary art through installations and works by artists including Elham M. Aghili, Omar Barbero, and Luciano Tousco.
