Crystal Harris, the widow of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, has issued a public plea via Instagram to actress Jessica Biel, urging her to reconsider her role in the upcoming film ‘Playmates’. Biel is cast to portray a fictionalized version of Hefner’s wife in the production directed by Lorraine Nicholson.

Harris, who was married to Hefner from 2012 until his death in 2017, warned against the film potentially seeking to ‘romanticize’ Hefner or the Playboy lifestyle. She shared personal accounts of experiencing sexual, emotional, physical, and financial abuse during her marriage.

Furthermore, Harris highlighted allegations from other women involving coercion, exploitation, drugging, and sexual assault within the Playboy environment. She emphasized that filmmakers should listen to the survivors of that era rather than turning the history into a piece of nostalgic entertainment.
