Authorities in Spain have conducted separate operations to intercept the theft of copper cabling.

In late August, the Guardia Civil in Soria arrested three individuals during a routine checkpoint on the N-II highway. Officers discovered approximately 900 kilograms of uninsulated copper wiring concealed in a vehicle that appeared heavily loaded. The owner of the material subsequently filed a formal complaint.

In early September, a 41-year-old man was arrested in Cáceres following a theft at a solar power plant. Surveillance operations led officers to a suspicious van containing roughly 100 meters of coiled copper cabling and tools, such as a cutter and a winch. Investigators identified a hole in the facility’s perimeter fence used to facilitate the theft.
