During this phase, more than 24,000 strips of suspected duplicate medication were seized.

The investigation subsequently expanded into an interstate crackdown led by the Ahmedabad City Crime Branch. The investigation was prompted by a complaint from JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited regarding counterfeit ‘NICARDIA RETARD 10’ (Nifedipine Sustained Release Tablets IP 10 mg) bearing batch number ACG25007. 

Officials traced the distribution from Sena Medical in Lucknow to Parshva Medical Agency in Ahmedabad, which supplied outlets in Nadiad, Bhuj, and Kutch. It is estimated that approximately 1,500 strips, or nearly 15,000 tablets, may have been sold to consumers over a four-month period.
