KP Sharma Oli, chairman of Nepal’s CPN-UML, has intensified his criticism of the current administration, accusing it of economic mismanagement and constitutional violations.

In July, Oli accused the government of betraying victims of loan-sharking and deepening the national economic crisis through rising prices, taxes, and a failure to address a loss of approximately Rs 542 billion in the stock market. During this period, the UML also focused on internal parliamentary training for its lawmakers.

By August, Oli’s rhetoric escalated as he labeled the government an “unconstitutional” and “puppet” administration. He claimed the government was formed through unauthorized means following the premature dissolution of the House of Representatives. Additionally, Oli addressed internal party challenges, dismissing efforts to remove him from his leadership position as “anarchy” and “ridiculous.”
