Violence and criminal investigations have been reported in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora. In mid-September, authorities conducted a high-speed pursuit that resulted in a collision and the arrest of two men, Felipe Alberto ‘N’ and Iram José ‘N’. During the operation, officials seized various firearms, ammunition, and narcotics. These arrests were reportedly connected to the homicide investigation of an influencer known as ‘El Piturris’.

By late September, a separate armed attack occurred near a funeral home in the Centro neighborhood. Two men, Samuel N and Carlos Antonio N, were killed after their vehicle was intercepted by suspects in a white sedan. Investigators recovered 19 shell casings at the scene. The Fiscalía General del Estado de Sonora (FGJES) is investigating the motive, with preliminary hypotheses suggesting the attack may be linked to conflicts involving local drug retail groups.
