Police in the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh have conducted several operations targeting theft and robbery. 

In mid-August, authorities arrested two suspects, Kulbhushan and Chhotu Singh, following a tip-off near the Untghat bridge. The arrest resulted in the recovery of stolen goods, including brass and steel utensils, DJ and sound equipment, and a motorcycle, with an estimated value of 12 lakh rupees.

Later in the month, a police and Special Operations Group (SOG) encounter near Birhipur Bagh led to the apprehension of Tilakram, also known as Jhindu. The suspect sustained a gunshot wound during the exchange of fire after allegedly firing upon the police. Authorities recovered stolen jewelry, cash, a pistol, and ammunition. Tilakram, who has over 25 criminal cases involving robbery and the Gangster Act, is being treated at a district hospital.
