Police operations across several Indian states have led to a series of arrests involving diverse criminal activities. In Gurugram, authorities dismantled an illegal arms network by arresting three individuals—Abhay (alias Maular), Jatin (alias Johny), and Sagar—who were allegedly planning an extortion scheme in Delhi. During the operation, police recovered two Chinese-made PX pistols and five live cartridges. One suspect, Sagar, sustained a leg fracture while attempting to evade capture by jumping from a flyover. Additionally, a 19-year-old was apprehended in Delhi for possession of illegal firearms. In Uttar Pradesh, law enforcement conducted several targeted actions. In Azamgarh, a member of a goat theft gang, identified as Asif, was arrested following a police encounter in which he sustained a gunshot wound. In Lucknow, a 26-year-old man named Birju was apprehended for the alleged murder of a friend via electric shock following a financial dispute. Furthermore, three men were arrested in Maharajganj for the alleged abduction and gang-rape of a minor. In Kolkata, a 56-year-old man, Palash Roy, was arrested for allegedly molesting two women in a five-star hotel lobby during a celebration involving members of the Brazilian football team. Investigators utilized CCTV footage to identify the suspect. In Gujarat, the Ahmedabad Local Crime Branch arrested a three-member gang for allegedly snatching mobile phones to facilitate unauthorized online purchases. In a separate incident at Nadiad railway station, police arrested four individuals and recovered approximately 2.9 kg of gold, valued at roughly Rs 4 crore, following a robbery of a passenger. During the pursuit of the suspects toward Viramgam, Inspector S. A. Gadhvi reportedly grabbed the door of a moving vehicle and was dragged for approximately 500 meters before successfully using the handbrake to stop the car.
