Authorities in Senegal have conducted several operations targeting drug-related crimes and theft in the Thiaroye region.

In late September, police in the Thiaroye district arrested a resident, S. S. Sylla, following a sting operation. Sylla was accused of the illegal sale of psychotropic medications, specifically anxiolytics like Alpraz and Temesta, without medical prescriptions. Officers recovered 18 packets of Alpraz and 21 packets of Temesta during the arrest.

By mid-October, investigations in Thiaroye-sur-Mer led to the arrest of four suspects following the overdose death of 23-year-old M. N. Ndoye. Three individuals—A. Niang, A. Diop, and C. D. Ndiaye—were referred to the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court on charges including drug trafficking, involuntary homicide, and endangering lives. A fourth suspect, S. J. Seck, was apprehended after traveling through Gambia and Mauritania.
