In the Pulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, police arrested a woman named Kajal and her brother, Umesh, for the murder of 35-year-old Sumit. 

Although the family initially reported the death as a suicide on August 31, a post-mortem examination revealed the victim had been strangled. Investigators determined that the suspects conspired to kill Sumit to facilitate an illicit affair and to seize his assets, subsequently staging the scene to resemble a hanging.
