In Cardiff, Liam Hobbs was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court following convictions for the sexual assault of a girl under the age of 13 and the possession of over 100 indecent images and videos of children. 

Recorder Simon Hughes classified Hobbs as a “dangerous offender” with a “deep-seated and long-held sexual interest in children.” He received a seven-year extended sentence for the assaults and a consecutive 14-month term for the possession of indecent images. Hobbs is required to serve two-thirds of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole.
