In South Africa, Lucas Kgosi Mmakgathi received 25 years for the 2024 murder of his two-year-old son via strangulation. The Madikwe Regional Court also declared him unfit to possess a firearm and stipulated that he cannot be released on parole without permission from the deceased’s family.
