In the United Kingdom, Tobias King received a sentence of more than seven years at Exeter Crown Court for a series of violent assaults at a hotel in Honiton. King pleaded guilty to charges including strangulation, false imprisonment, threats to kill, actual bodily harm, and theft. 

In Australia, the Victorian Supreme Court sentenced Timothy Loosemore to 17 years in prison for the manslaughter of Maree Vermont. The court found that Loosemore fatally assaulted Vermont and subsequently set fire to her home near Goldie to cover up the crime.
