In Monsenhor Tabosa, Mayor Salomão Araújo and the municipal subsecretary of Agriculture, Francisco de Assis Sousa Júnior, reported death threats allegedly issued by the Comando Vermelho (CV) criminal faction. 

The threats against the mayor’s brother, Júnior Araújo, included accusations of ties to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) and demands that the official leave the city. Social media footage showed hooded individuals, presumed to be CV members, brandishing and firing firearms in the district of Nossa Senhora do Livramento. The Ceará State Public Security and Defense Secretariat confirmed that multiple police units, including the Department of Organized Crime Repression, are investigating the incidents.
