Sources: 31. Developments: 3. Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the Portugal national team training camp has caused significant tension within his family and the football community. The initial conflict arose from disagreements with coach Roberto Martinez, reportedly involving a broken promise regarding Ronaldo’s playing time during a Nations League match against Norway. Ronaldo reportedly left the camp after feeling that an agreement to play 30 minutes was not honored. Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, described the situation as a “shock” and stated that her son deserved to leave the team with dignity. She has expressed full support for her son, noting that he intends to explain the full details of the situation to her in person. Despite the tension, the veteran forward has expressed a willingness to return to the national team. As the situation progressed, the conflict escalated into a dispute with coach Jorge Jesus. The rift intensified after Ronaldo was left on the bench during a 2-1 victory over Norway, despite having warmed up for the match. Following his departure from the training camp prior to a match against Denmark, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) initiated disciplinary proceedings, including a provisional suspension. Recent developments indicate that the disciplinary process resulted in a one-month suspension and a symbolic fine of 255 euros for the 41-year-old striker. While FPF President Pedro Proença has attempted to mediate by describing Ronaldo as a “fundamental piece” for the team, Jorge Jesus has maintained a firm stance on team rules and disciplinary standards. Despite the impasse, Portuguese media reports suggest a potential resolution is approaching. There are indications that both parties may reach an agreement to allow Ronaldo to return to the squad, potentially for the match against Denmark in Braga on November 14, to facilitate a dignified farewell to the national team. ## Claims - Elma Aveiro stated that the chances of Ronaldo returning to the national team are minimal.
