Crystal Palace defeated Nottingham Forest 3-1 at Selhurst Park in a Premier League sixth matchweek fixture marked by the emotional return of Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner. Glasner, who previously led Crystal Palace to FA Cup and Conference League titles, returned to London amid mixed sentiments from supporters.

The match featured high drama, including extraordinary saves by Palace goalkeeper Walter Benítez, who denied both Liam Delap and Chris Wood to preserve the lead. Forest took an early lead in the third minute through Dan Ndoye, following a defensive error by Anan Khalaili. Despite Forest dominating much of the first half, Palace responded before the interval. Daichi Kamada equalized in the 41st minute with his first Premier League goal, and Jefferson Lerma scored a header in stoppage time to give the hosts a 2-1 lead at halftime.

Lerma’s goal was subject to a VAR review after replays suggested the ball may have touched Khalaili’s arm, but the decision stood. Crystal Palace secured the victory in the 59th minute through a goal by Yeremy Pino. This result moves Palace to 12th in the standings, while Nottingham Forest remains in 14th. Following the match, Palace manager Pierre Sage emphasized that the victory was focused on the team’s performance rather than personal sentiment regarding Glasner.
