Crystal Palace head coach Pierre Sage is facing significant job uncertainty following a string of poor results. After a 5-0 Premier League defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion—the club’s heaviest loss to their rivals since 1956—Sage expressed feelings of “shame” and took full responsibility, stating, “It’s my fault because I am the coach.”

Pressure on Sage has intensified following a subsequent 2-0 loss to Newcastle United at Selhurst Park, which marked Newcastle's first league victory at the stadium in six years. This defeat leaves the club sitting 17th in the table, just one point above the relegation zone. Having been in charge for four months, Sage has overseen five defeats in eight league matches, during which the team has conceded 19 goals.

While Sage remains under contract until 2029, he has expressed doubt regarding whether he will be granted the time required to improve the squad. Club leadership has reportedly begun considering potential replacements. Sean Dyche has emerged as a leading candidate to replace Sage, noted for his experience in Premier League survival battles during his previous tenures. Other names linked to the position include Thomas Frank, Kieran McKenna, and Vítor Pereira, though no official change has been announced.
