The 2026-2027 school year in Côte d'Ivoire officially began on September 14, 2026, with the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Education expecting approximately 8.8 million students.

Families are experiencing significant budgetary pressure regarding the costs of uniforms, books, and transport, a situation compounded by regional inflationary trends in petroleum and freight costs. To mitigate these financial strains, the government announced the distribution of over 5 million school kits and extended sales periods for discounted goods to assist families during the transition.
