The Cuatro y Medio tournament has reached the semifinal stage following intense quarter-final action. Javier Zabala has become the first semifinalist after a 22-17 victory against Jon Ander Peña at the Adarraga fronton in Logroño. Zabala secured the win by demonstrating “superior physical conditioning and control” during the second half of the match.

This victory follows Zabala’s previous comeback win against Jokin Altuna III in Gasteiz. In the opening match of the quarterfinals at the Ogueta court, Altuna III initially dominated with scores of 7-0, 9-1, and 11-4, but Zabala managed a significant turnaround by adjusting his strategy and utilizing lateral movements to disrupt Altuna III's rhythm.

In the same quarter-final group stage, Jokin Altuna advanced after a 22-13 victory over Unai Laso at the Atano III fronton in Donostia, a match previously noted for high tension and officiating controversies. Zabala’s recent performance effectively eliminates Laso from tournament contention.
