Following restoration work after sustaining damage in the February 6 earthquakes, Kahramanmaraş Castle has been reopened to visitors.

Initial activities at the site included the revival of the ‘Kale Sineması’ (Castle Cinema) event, where the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality hosted outdoor screenings of classic Turkish films for local residents.

Subsequent programming expanded to include educational initiatives, such as a historical program for local neighborhood mukhtars. This event featured lectures and guided tours led by historian Mehmet Işık, focusing on the castle’s strategic importance during the Turkish War of Independence.
