Ascoli Piceno is engaging in various initiatives to bolster its cultural and academic standing. In late September 2026, the city inaugurated the Anima Picena Student Housing facility on via Piemonte. This project involved repurposing a previously unused building to provide modern living environments and social spaces for students. Officials noted the initiative is part of a strategy to use higher education to combat depopulation in the central Apennines.

Following this, the city prepared to host the fourth international conference organized by the Agape Accademia Caffè Letterari d’Italia e d’Europa. Scheduled for early October 2026, the event aims to foster dialogue between literature, the arts, psychoanalysis, and society. The proceedings will conclude with the Agape International Prize 2026, recognizing contributors across fields such as ethical communication, science, and academia.
