In Vigo and throughout Galicia, efforts to enhance cultural and architectural heritage are underway. The local Partido Popular (PP) has proposed increasing cultural investment to improve Vigo’s regional standing, specifically advocating for the recovery of the Teatro Cine Fraga as a regional landmark. The PP noted that Vigo currently trails most of Galicia in cultural spending per capita.

Simultaneously, urban and heritage rehabilitation projects are advancing. In central Vigo, long-delayed rehabilitation for a building on Colón street has been granted a license, while another nearby building is slated for renovation into high-end residences. Beyond Vigo, Grupo Souto is engaged in heritage recovery through apartment rehabilitations in historic centers and the restoration of the 19th-century Pazo de Castadón in Pereiro de Aguiar.
