Ferrara has implemented various initiatives focused on cultural heritage, community engagement, and local industry. Recent activities include the ‘Strati della Cultura’ event exploring community participation, and the ‘Food & Science Lab Ferrara’ addressing agricultural challenges such as climate change and international trade. Other efforts include the ‘Entroterra festival’ promoting local traditions and urban regeneration projects like the ‘Abitiamo lo stato dei luoghi’ camp.

Building on these themes of heritage and identity, the city hosted the ‘Storie di artigiani e mercanti nella Ferrara antica’ tour. This event, organized by Confartigianato Ferrara, highlighted the city’s historical craftsmanship and trade by visiting landmarks such as Palazzo Tassoni and the San Pietro gate. A significant aspect of the tour was the reopening of the Church of Sant’Apollonia to the public for the first time since 1972.
