Kecskemét, Hungary, is hosting various cultural, literary, and historical commemorations. Scheduled events include the Kadafalvi harvest and village days, which mark the bicentenary of the birth of writer and poet Pál Gyulai. On September 19, 2026, this event featured a speech by Father József Holczer. Additionally, a memorial service in the Nyíri Forest is planned for October 6, 2026, to honor the martyrs of the 1848–49 Revolution and War of Independence. Organized by the 1848–49 War of Independence Foundation and KEFAG Kiskunsági Erdészeti és Faipari Zrt., the ceremony will include historian speeches, musical performances, and a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial site of the Arad martyrs and László Szulyovszky.

The city is also celebrating City Day with programs running from September 30 to October 20. Festivities include an outdoor photo exhibition titled ‘Window to the Past’ on the main square, showcasing digitized historical images. The Katona József National Theatre is marking its 130th anniversary with an exhibition of archival materials available through November 30. Other celebrations include musical programs, such as a cimbalom performance, and two autumn fairs.

Further highlighting the city's heritage, the Bács-Kiskun County Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the ‘KirakatSéta’ (Window Walk) event. This initiative involved eighteen local businesses using old photographs, historical objects, and personal memories in their window displays to connect modern identities with the city's past.
