The state of Paraíba is hosting a series of cultural and literary events throughout late 2026.

In September, the region features various cinematic activities, including the VI Mostra Sumé de Cinema in Sumé, which focuses on audiovisual training and the preservation of cultural memory through street cinemas. Simultaneously, João Pessoa’s Cine Banguê is hosting a diverse film lineup, including remastered classics and showcases for local filmmakers.

Looking toward November, the third International Literary Festival of Paraíba (FliParaíba) is scheduled to take place in the historic center of João Pessoa. Under the theme ‘Routes: The Invention of Afro-Latin America’, the festival will feature international authors, musical performances by the Paraíba Symphony Orchestra, and thematic discussions on Afro-Latin American literature. Recent updates confirm that the festival will include authors such as Socorro Acioli.
