Naples is hosting various musical and cultural events throughout late August and September 2026. 

In late August, Gennaro Pisapia and Gruppo Smeraldo are scheduled to perform at the Complesso Monumentale di Santa Maria La Nova, presenting a musical journey through 19th and 20th-century Neapolitan melodies. This performance is part of a project to promote Neapolitan musical heritage, which includes a planned theatrical production exploring the history of classical Neapolitan song.

In September, the city's cultural programming continues with the VII edition of the Unimusic festival on September 5 and 6. Organized by the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti in partnership with the University of Naples Federico II, the festival features symphonic works by Beethoven and Verdi at the Cortile delle Statue, alongside a performance of Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’ by the Orchestra Scarlatti Young.

This is followed by the XXIV edition of ‘La Notte della Tammorra’ on September 11 and 12 at Piazza Mercato. Directed by Carlo Faiello, this folk music festival includes a tribute to Roberto De Simone as part of the ‘Napoli Città della Musica’ initiative.

Further autumn programming includes the “La Scala Musicale” festival from September 16 to 25. Organized by the Fondazione Roberto Murolo ETS, the event celebrates Neapolitan classical song through music, cinema, and historical analysis at the Casa Museo Murolo and the Vomero district. Additionally, the third edition of “Vespero Napoletano,” a slow tourism festival, runs from September 11 to October 24, promoting sustainable tourism through experiential activities and performances in lesser-known areas of the city.
