The town of Verucchio is hosting several cultural and sporting events in early October 2026.

The ‘Verucchio in Caratella’ race, scheduled for October 3 and 4, features a 2.3-kilometer time trial of handmade, gravity-powered vehicles known locally as ‘cariùl’. These vehicles descend a course starting from the via Brocchi junction and ending in front of Acque Salate, reaching Villa Verucchio with gradients of up to 8%. The event includes social activities such as a party in Piazza Primo Maggio on Saturday night featuring DJ Musso, followed by an awards ceremony and a final lunch on Sunday.

Simultaneously, the town is conducting its 2026 Festa della Storia under the theme ‘Stories, secrets and mysteries.’ Running from October 3 to October 11, the festival includes exhibitions, workshops, and guided tours at locations such as the Rocca Malatestiana and the Archaeological Museum. The festival program includes the presentation of the ‘Il Trono’ award to Father Massimo Pazzini for his work in peace and dialogue. Additional festival details include exhibitions focused on Saint Francis and local banditry.

Verucchio’s Festa della Storia is part of a broader series of cultural and historical celebrations occurring across various Italian municipalities during early October 2026.
