An international congress titled ‘Zenobia Camprubí, Juan Ramón Jiménez y el 27. Magisterio y vivencia’ is scheduled for late October in Moguer and Huelva. The event commemorates the 70th anniversary of Jiménez receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature and the 70th anniversary of Camprubí’s death. The congress will examine the couple’s influence on the Generation of ‘27 and highlight Camprubí’s work as a feminist activist and translator. In a related cultural development, a portrait of Juan Ramón Jiménez painted by Daniel Vázquez Díaz has been returned to public view in Huelva. Ceded to the Diputación de Huelva through a collaboration agreement, the painting is now permanently displayed at the Palacio Provincial. This marks the first time the artwork has been accessible to the public since it was exhibited in Barcelona in 1935. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-16: Juan Ramón Jiménez portrait returns to public view in Huelva A portrait of Nobel laureate Juan Ramón Jiménez by Daniel Vázquez Díaz has returned to public display in Huelva, Spain, for the first time since 1935. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/juan-ramn-jimnez-portrait-returns-to-public-view-in-huelva ### 2026-09-12: Huelva to host international congress honoring Juan Ramón Jiménez and Zenobia Camprubí An international congress in Huelva, Spain, will commemorate the 70th anniversary of Juan Ramón Jiménez’s Nobel Prize and the legacy of Zenobia Camprubí and their influence on the Generation of '27. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/huelva-to-host-international-congress-honoring-juan-ramn-jimnez-and-zenobia-camprub --- Cite as: Cultural commemorations for Juan Ramón Jiménez and Zenobia.
