Cultural initiatives honoring the legacy of Italian intellectual Pier Paolo Pasolini continue through visual arts, literary publications, and theatrical events. In Serre di Rapolano, the Museo dell’Antica Grancia is hosting the exhibition ‘Pasolini. Pitture, Paesaggi, Persone’, which focuses on his connection to landscapes and the peasant world. Simultaneously, the 60th issue of CulturaIdentità explores his role as a poet and director, while the ‘Pasolini Art Visual Territorio’ festival in Rome commemorates the 51st anniversary of his death through film and theater. Further events organized by the Centro Studi Pier Paolo Pasolini are scheduled for November 4 to 7 in Casarsa della Delizia and Udine, focusing on his work as a journalist and his ideological connections to other 20th-century authors.

In a significant judicial development, the Rome Prosecutor’s Office has opened a new investigation into the 1975 murder of Pasolini at the Ostia Idroscalo. Assigned to substitute prosecutor Silvia Santucci, the inquiry follows a formal complaint by attorney Stefano Maccioni. Maccioni, representing Pasolini’s cousin, claims that new evidence and a previously unheard witness could challenge the long-standing conclusion that Giuseppe Pelosi acted alone. The investigation aims to explore potential accomplices and investigate theories regarding political motives, including possible links to far-right or neo-fascist organizations, arguing that scientific evidence gathered over the last 18 years contradicts the original verdict.
