Cultural events in the Reggio Calabria and Messina regions focus on artistic connections and Mediterranean heritage. In late September 2026, the Expo Arte dei Due Mari 2026, themed ‘Connections’, began across 12 venues in Messina and Reggio Calabria. Organized by the Biennale d’Arte di Messina, the event utilizes contemporary art, photography, sculpture, and music to bridge the two sides of the Strait.

Following this, the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria scheduled the international exhibition ‘Ispirazioni. Vite italiane dell’arte greca’ to run from October 22 to December 31, 2026. Promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture, the exhibition explores the transformations of Greek art across the Mediterranean and highlights historical links between Greece and Italy through the museum’s collections from Magna Graecia.
