Irapuato is hosting several cultural events and diplomatic exchanges. During the 54th Festival Internacional Cervantino (FIC), municipal president Lorena Alfaro García met with the Jamaican Ambassador to Mexico, Julia Elizabeth Hyatt, to promote cultural exchange. This visit included a free concert in the historic center featuring reggae and local musical talent.

Additionally, the city is organizing the tenth edition of ‘Reviviendo Tradiciones: Entre Altares 2026’, a festival involving over 650 artists to honor Mexican traditions and the deceased through parades, sand tapestries, and altar exhibitions. The city is also hosting the Feria del Alfeñique. Although rumors of gunfire caused brief panic during an opening parade, organizers reported high attendance and a ‘saldo blanco’ (no incidents) regarding public order.
