Gimpo City has hosted a series of cultural events aimed at fostering community identity and international exchange.

In September, the city held the 39th Jungbong Cultural Festival at the Gimpo Art Village. The event honored local righteous army leader Jo Heon through memorial services, literature awards, and traditional folk art performances.

Following this, the city announced plans for the 19th Gimpo World Citizens Festival, scheduled for October 11 at the Gimpo Art Village. Under the theme ‘Gimpo Open to the World, Connecting Us through Peace,’ the festival intends to promote understanding between local and foreign residents through international culinary programs, flag parades, and performances.

Detailed programming for the upcoming festival includes traditional costume and craft displays, a flea market, and world food tastings. Musical performances are set to feature a creative opera by the Maumsori Art Troupe, a trot performance by Kim Myung-ji, the Withers Children's Choir, a headline set by singer Insooni, and a park concert by the Suwon University Chamber.

Beyond cultural exchange, the event will host a fundraising booth to support victims of recent floods in Nepal caused by war and climate crises. Other community-focused programs include fingerprint registration for missing child prevention and various service booths.
