Keelung City has held a series of events focused on promoting cultural heritage and social cohesion. 

In mid-August, the Changan District Harvest Festival was held in Qidu to celebrate indigenous culture. During the festivities, Keelung Deputy Mayor Chiu Pei-lin highlighted the city’s commitment to supporting its 10,468 indigenous residents through increased welfare resources and infrastructure, such as community centers.

Later in the month, the city hosted the ‘Retro Rock, Art Song Keelung’ event at Guomen Square, which showcased intangible cultural heritage through traditional performing arts like Beiguan and percussion. This was accompanied by a multicultural charity concert intended to foster understanding among Hakka and new immigrant communities. Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang noted the importance of building an inclusive city through such cultural exchanges.
