Initially, the ‘Staza’ project organized guided tours to historical sites, including the Radimlja stećak necropolis, the Boljuni necropolis, and the Old Town of Stolac. This initiative was implemented by the Association for Cooperation and Development SARA Mostar with funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark via UNDP. Subsequently, the public institution JU Radimlja Stolac released ‘Stolac – City of Encounters’, the first unified tourism catalogue for the region. Presented at the 18th ‘Herzegovinian Mediterranean Products’ fair, the catalogue integrates archaeological sites, necropolises, and old towns with local gastronomy, agriculture, and adventure activities. This project was realized through the ‘RAST II’ initiative, a cooperation between Caritas Switzerland and the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism aimed at sustainable rural development and climate resilience. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-10: Stolac launches first unified tourism catalogue JU Radimlja Stolac has launched a new tourism catalogue for Stolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting the region's cultural heritage, gastronomy, and natural beauty to support local economic development. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/stolac-launches-first-unified-tourism-catalogue ### 2026-10-05: Cultural heritage tours launched in Stolac and Vodnjan New cultural heritage tours in Stolac and Vodnjan aim to preserve history and foster community understanding through guided visits to significant historical sites and monuments. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/cultural-heritage-tours-launched-in-stolac-and-vodnjan --- Cite as: Cultural heritage and tourism development in Stolac.
