Cáceres is undergoing significant cultural infrastructure developments through various museum projects.

An eight-million-euro renovation of the Museo de Cáceres is underway, funded by European Next Generation funds. This project aims to transform the historical garden into a central hub that connects the Casa de los Caballos and the Palacio de las Veletas. The museum director, Raquel Preciados, characterized the garden as a “lung” for the institution. While the first phase is complete, work on the garden and the Palacio de las Veletas is expected to continue through late 2026.

Simultaneously, construction has commenced on the Museo del Madruelo. Designed by architect Patxi Mangado, this new facility is intended to house an international collection of musical instruments and more than 14,000 ceramic pieces. Local residents anticipate the project will revitalize the Ribera del Marco and Santiago square areas.
