Cyndi Lauper is marking the 40th anniversary of her second studio album, ‘True Colors’, through various commemorative releases and events.

In September 2026, Lauper announced an expanded digital edition of the album featuring 29 tracks. This collection includes unreleased recordings, live performances from Paris in 1987, and the completion of ‘The River Cried’, a song from the original 1986 sessions. A limited edition double vinyl release is also scheduled for December.

Following this, Lauper announced a two-part auction titled ‘Cyndi Lauper: Suitcase of Memories’ through Bonhams. Starting October 22, the auction will feature iconic wardrobe items, including the newspaper skirt from the ‘True Colors’ album cover, leopard-print pajamas from the ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ video, and high-fashion pieces from designers such as Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood.
