Following a ferry shipwreck off the northern coast of Cyprus near Kyrenia, the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation has initiated financial aid for the victims' families.

Initial reports following the August 30 incident indicated eight confirmed deaths and 18 people missing, with the foundation pledging 260,000 euros to be distributed via bank transfers to the closest relatives of the 26 victims. 

Subsequent updates revised the casualty figures to 13 confirmed deaths and 15 missing persons. The foundation has since launched an online application platform to facilitate the distribution of 280,000 euros in emergency assistance. Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou stated that aid would be provided to widows, orphans, and parents regardless of nationality.
